Initial Symptoms, clinical patterns, functional disability and follow-up of 449 patients with bronchiectasis are described. 3.1% had normal plain skiagram chest 59.6% had moderate and 12.7% had severe functional limpairment. 41.6% showed more than 10% increase in post bronchodilation FEV1. Surgical resection showed clinical improvement in 72.6%. In resected specimens tuberculosis was found in 8%.
